The Tillman Story: We ALL Need to See This Documentary
If you do not do anything in the next week, in the next month, in your life you need to at least watch “The Tillman Story” (2010) now out on DVD. Anyone who knows me, I mean really knows me, knows that I am partial to the underdogs of the world. I am what is known as a conspiracy theorist. Not a professional one by any means. There are articles and information that I am not aware of. A friend of mine used to say to me “if the government knew what I knew I would be dead.” and when I heard that from him I secretly laughed and was like “who are you?” but he was right. It’s not what HE knew but what the average American knows, the individual instinctly knows that could get them killed IF PERSUED. What the American Government counts on is you sweeping things under the rug. America counts on you dismissing the facts staring you in your face and saying “that could NEVER happen. That is too ridiculous. That is just some whack-job loser conspiracy theorist’s idea who has way too much time on their hands.”

Thank God for a mother, Mary “Dannie” Tillman (shown above), did not sit back and accept what the governement told their family about what happens to her son. The military gave her an expansion of information to help her “go away” but she did not go away. Instead of the information surrounding his death be overwhelming she decided to dig into every piece of paper given to her and she for 3 years read it and analyzed it. Something that they felt she would never do, being just a mother.

Back story: Tillman enlisted in June 2002, along with his brother Kevin, who gave up the chance of a career in professional baseball. In September 2002, they completed basic training.[9] The two brothers completed the Ranger Indoctrination Program in late 2002 and were assigned to the 2nd Ranger Battalion in Fort Lewis, Washington. Tillman resided in University Place with his wife before being deployed to Iraq. After participating in the initial invasion of Operation Iraqi Freedom, in September 2003, he entered Ranger School at Fort Benning, Georgia, and graduated on November 28, 2003.
Tillman was subsequently redeployed to Afghanistan. On April 22, 2004, he was killed by friendly fire. The specific details of his death and its aftermath were investigated by the US Congress.
The Army initially claimed that Tillman and his unit were attacked in an apparent ambush on a road outside of the village of Sperah about 25 miles (40 km) southwest of Khost, near the Pakistan border. An Afghan militia soldier was killed, and two other Rangers were injured as well.
The Army Special Operations Command initially claimed that there was an exchange with hostile forces. After a lengthy investigation conducted by Brigadier General Gary M. Jones, the U.S. Department of Defense concluded that both the Afghan militia soldier’s and Pat Tillman’s deaths were due to friendly fire aggravated by the intensity of the firefight.
An investigation by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command concluded that Tillman and the Afghan militia soldier were killed by friendly fire when one allied group fired upon another in confusion after nearby gunfire was mistakenly believed to be from enemy combatants. The CID Report summary, dated 19 March 2007, stated that: “during their movement through the canyon road, Serial 2 was ambushed and became engaged in a running gun battle with enemy combatants. Serial 1 [Tillman's portion of the platoon] had just passed through the same canyon without incident and were approximately one kilometer ahead of Serial 2. Upon hearing explosions, gunfire, and sporadic radio communication from Serial 2, Serial 1 dismounted their vehicles and moved on foot, to a more advantageous position to provide overwatch and fire support for Serial 2′s movement out of the ambush.” Upon exiting the gorge, and despite attempts by Serial 1 to signal a “friendly position,” occupants of the lead vehicle of Serial 2 opened fire on Tillman’s position, where he was fatally shot.

Marie Tillman, Pat’s wife, widow, and high school sweatheart had to learn that Pat Tillman’s head was decapitated from his body during this fire. He was killed by his own soldiers. My belief is that in that split second of thought a soldier decided, maybe even uncontiously, to kill him. I believe he was murdered. The bottom line to this was that Tillman’s death was covered up by the military. They decided to SPIN the story into a Hero Worship piece where he was said to be killed by the Taliban. Later it came out that it was “friendly” fire and even later it came out what really happened that the troops were split up and the 2nd tier troops fired on the 1st teir troops. And within this “accidental” fire Pat was killed.
You have to remember that these are kids from 19 – early 20′s. Kids. Boys. Boys who are barely out of puberty who wanted to come home saying they were apart of a real gunfight. Yea, just like John Wayne. And some, in my opinion, were a bit jealous of a man who left a successful lucrative career as a Cardinal professional football player to join the military. They were afraid of his committment to his country, and to strength of his soul. In that split second of opportunity possibly one of those who were envious decided to take out the real competition in their mind, a person they were simply very jealous of.

I say watch it and learn. Learn about the American Government. Learn about human nature. Just LEARN. I say this the same way I say watch “Long Kiss Goodnight” and learn a little something more about the 911 Terrorist attack. Granted “Long Kiss Goodnight” was a fictional story and The Pat Tillman story is a truthful documentary. There are things that can only be said through fiction. Just because a story is fictional in basis does not mean it is not true.

I will say this my fiance (PFC Bennie Jackson above) was murdered on a military base in 1992. The military claimed it was suicide but it was MURDER. They claimed suicide but his mother recieved FULL death insurance benefit which is a blatant contradiction to policy. I feel that the murderer attended his funeral and that I sat next to him and was introduced to him. This is what the military does and that is all I am going to say about that except that he once told me while in Desert Storm that they were “just sitting there doing nothing…” and I think that line speaks to what ended up happening to Pat Tillman.
Watch and Learn People and take NOTHING at face value – NOTHING.
